Elizabeth Lange, PhD

CO-CHAIR

Dr. Lange was born in Edmonton on Plains Cree territory and has continuous gratitude for her deepening relationship with the Maskwacis Cree and now the T’Sou-ke Coast Salish.

She is a professor of education with 40 years of experience as a facilitator of transformative, sustainability, and climate learning, both in formal (K-12; university) and nonformal settings (community groups, government, and others), always building connections to the living world.

Her latest two books are Transformative Sustainability Education (2023) and Indigenous Voices and Decolonising Lifelong Education with Apooyak'ii, Tiffany Hind Bull-Prete (2026). She is a partner as well as a mother, stepmother and grandmother to five young women.
She is Co-Chair of the Fireweed Learning Commons, Vancouver Island.
