CO-CHAIRDr. Shandell Houlden (she/her), co-chair of the Fireweed Learning Commons, is a teacher, researcher, and community learner who works at the intersections of education, technology, media, and environment.

Lily Mah-Sen, MIM
Lily Mah-Sen’s story is rooted in the Chinese-Canadian experience, from her family indentured railway worker beginnings to her father paying the Head Tax. This background fueled a lifelong commitment to human rights and the environment. -

Catherine Adela, MA
Catherine (she/her) grew up in the coastal rainforest on Stó꞉lō land, where her love of animals and wild places first took root. She went on to spend over a decade as a wildlife rehabilitator, gaining a deep understanding of local species and the relationships that connect us to place.
